Atlanta will continue to be the headquartersefor AT&T's Mobility group. The company said in a press release the move to Dalla s gets the company closer to many of its key technologyy suppliers and other telecom companies with major operationdin Dallas, such as , , , , , , , and . Othee factors include the convenience of air travel to andfrom Dallas. The DFW airport is the third largest inthe U.S. and one of the top six in the offering daily nonstop service to 35 internationapl and133 U.S. destinations. Dallas enjoys a second major airport. Love Field -- the 50th largest U.S. airport -- offers more than 160 nonstoopflights daily.
AT&T said being near leadinbg air transportation facilities is critical to global companie s as the airline industr y continues to consolidate and reduce hubs and flights amid higher fuel pricee and industryeconomic pressures. Following the move, AT&Ty will have about 1,700p more employees in San Antonio than before it relocatefd its corporate headquarters to the cityfrom St. Louis in 1992.
