Eighty-fou r percent of small businesses not offeringv health insurance saythey can’ t afford to, while 70 percent of thos e who do are struggling to provids it.
Small business owneres also see the cost of health insurancer as a significant barrier to entrepreneurship and say reform is importan in helping theeconomy recover. “Small business owners aren’t shirking theif responsibility where health care is saidJohn Arensmeyer, founder and chief executive officerf of Small Business Majority. “They feel a responsibilit y to provide health care for their employeea and are willing to do their part in fixint ourbroken system.” The report foune 75 percent of small business owneres support having the option of a privatee or public health insurance plan as part of healt care reform.
