The lawsuit contends nearly 600 people contracted norovirusw at the park in March 2008 due to unsanitarty conditions in the indoorwater park’s restaurants and othef facilities. Norovirus is highly contagious and causessudden gastro-intestinal problems such as nausea, vomitinhg and diarrhea. The New York State Department of Health investigatedthe outbreak.
Becky Valenti, a spokeswoman for the Greaf Escape, declined comment on the litigation except to say it has never been proven that the outbreak was caused by the indoodrwater park. The park is located across the stree t from the Great Escape andSplashwatedr Kingdom. The facilities are owned by Six Flags ThemseParks Inc.
